Johannesburg - The bizhub Highveld Lions will finish top of the MiWay T20 Challenge log regardless of the outcome of their last match against the New Age Impi on Wednesday and thus have automatically qualified for the final and will host that match on April 1 at the Bidvest Wanderers Stadium.

Even if the Nashua Titans draw level with the Lions on 35 points they cannot move past the Lions as the latter won both the league matches between the two teams.

It means that Gauteng cricket fans can look forward to a bumper weekend of cricket with the New Age Cup T20 match between the Proteas and India, also at the Wanderers Stadium, on Friday, March 30, being followed two days later by the MiWay T20 Challenge Final.

The play-off match for the other position in the final will take place between the Chevrolet Knights and the Nashua Titans. The Knights, who have completed their league programme, are currently second on the log with 34 points followed by the Titans on 30.

For the Titans to host the play-off match they will have to beat the Chevrolet Warriors with a bonus point at SuperSport Park on Wednesday.

If the Titans finish level on 34 points with the Knights or behind them, then the latter will host the match as they have the better record in the two league matches between the two franchises.
