T20 launch gets CSA go-ahead

Cape Town - Cricket South Africa (CSA) will hold a media briefing at the Southern Sun Inter-Continental Hotel at OR Tambo International Airport on Monday to launch the T20 Challenge domestic competition.

This comes after CSA earlier this week indefinitely postponed the launch of the challenge.

With the national cricket body, and CEO Gerald Majola in particular, involved in an ongoing bonus saga, CSA was unable to secure sponsors for two competitions this season - the T20 Challenge and the 1-Day Cup competition.

The SuperSport Series, which concludes this weekend, was the only competition funded by an independent source.

CSA will also unveil the name and composition of the 7th team that will compete at franchise level for the first time. There will be media opportunities with both the captain and the coach.

The governing body will also announce the full list of nationally contracted players for the 2012/13 year.
