Van Wyk hits ton on bad weather day

Cape Town - Morne van Wyk's 20th first-class century was the highlight on day two of a weather-affected Sunfoil Series clash between the Warriors and Dolphins at Buffalo Park in East London on Friday.

The visiting captain made 122 (147 balls. 14 fours, 1 six) before declaring his side’s innings on 450 for eight.

Only 38.2 overs were bowled on the second day as rain earlier in the morning meant that over three hours were lost either side of the lunch break, before a further delay by bad light before the close.

But that did not stop veteran Van Wyk, playing in his first match of the season due to injury, from providing the main talking point of the day.

There was also a run-a-ball 51 not out from Keshav Maharaj as he continued to impress this campaign.

The pick of the Warriors’ bowlers was Simon Harmer with 3/70.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
