Pretoria - Heino Kuhn returned to the top of the Sunfoil Series scoring charts as the Titans strengthened their grip by the halfway stage of their clash against the Knights in Centurion on Friday.
The home side reached stumps on 143/2 in their second innings, a mighty lead of 298, having rolled over the visitors for a woeful 122 earlier in the day.
Kuhn was unbeaten on 71 (124 balls, 9 fours) and closing in on 600 runs for the season, but he also had his bowlers to thank for allowing him to bat with a big lead behind him.
In fact, the Titans had started the day batting on 240/6, but they lost their last four wickets for just 37 with Duanne Olivier finishing with figures of 5/53. Shadley van Schalkwyk picked up 3/72.
But the Knights were then blown away by Marchant de Lange and Rowan Richards.
The pair shared eight wickets between them with the former collecting 4/34 and the latter 4/41 – their efforts ensuring the Central Franchise were rolled over in just 40.5 overs.
Michael Erlank top-scored with 27, but his side were poor and conceded a lead of 155.
The Titans then took full advantage to ensure they were in charge at the halfway stage of their first versus third encounter at SuperSport Park.
