Rain has final say in Maritzburg

Cape Town - The opening day of the Sunfoil Series clash between the Dolphins and the Warriors was washed out without a ball being bowled at the Pietermaritzburg Oval on Thursday.

Rain has been forecast for most of the four days, and even though no heavy downpours arrived, there was a constant drizzle from the morning.

Umpires Johan Cloete and Stephen Harris decided shortly after what would have been the tea break to abandon the day’s play.
