Cape Town - Persistent rain forced the second day of the Sunfoil Series match between the Dolphins and Knights to be abandoned at Kingsmead in Durban on Friday.
The wet weather had been forecast for the second day and it arrived timeously late on Thursday night and continued through the night and into the morning, drizzling persistently most of the time.
That forced an early lunch to be taken and umpires Lubabalo Gcuma and Bongani Jele decided to draw stumps early after little sign of the rain relenting.
The weather is expected to clear by Friday night, with the forecast for the weekend much drier.
The Dolphins are currently batting on 285/9 after they lost the toss and were asked to bat first on day one.
Scores in brief:
Dolphins 285/9 (Khan 59, Erwee 58, Peterson 6/71)
