Cape Town - The Knights have lost the services of Proteas all-rounder Ryan McLaren but have Cape Cobras batsman Richard Levi in their sights.
According to the Volksblad website, the 31-year-old McLaren has decided to play for the Dolphins next season.
He is the second frontline player to leave the Bloemfontein-based franchise following Dean Elgar's recent decision to join the Titans
Both have national contracts, which allows them to choose where they want to play their domestic cricket.
However, Levi could boost their ranks next season if he moves from Cape Town.
The Knights are in talks with Levi's agent, Arthur Turner, about a possible move to Bloemfontein.
Levi made headlines when he scored the fastest T20 century (off 45 balls) against New Zealand in 2012 but has since run out of form and struggled to feature prominently for the Cobras this season.
