Day 2 washed out in Paarl

Paarl - It was Rain 2, Cricket 0 at Boland Park in Paarl on Friday.

After an early inspection by umpires Ian Howell and Brad White, play was called off before it was due to start for the second day, and the chance of a result in this Sunfoil Series match between the Cape Cobras and the Knights is looking remote.

Rain continued to pound the ground overnight, leaving several areas of the outfield unfit for play.

More rain is still expected although the forecast, spot on until now, is for the heavy clouds to roll away later today.

Captains Rory Kleinveldt and Morne van Wyk might spending some of the idle moments today discussing possible innings forfeitures in order to advance the match.

If play can only start late tomorrow afternoon, a single innings match will be played.
