Cape Town - Jacques Kallis’s second Test double century for South Africa and first at his beloved Newlands has been lauded generously on Twitter.

Fellow-cricketers and even a few high-profile rugby personalities joined the serenading as Kallis moved to a career-best 224 against Sri Lanka at the ground on Wednesday, before holing out just before lunch.
“Magnificent day at Newlands, made even better by watching (Kallis) getting his double century,” tweeted Springbok forwards coach Gary Gold.
The larger-than-life Toks van der Linde added: “Kallis jou legend. Well done chom.”
And, although this tweet had come in after Tuesday’s close of play, when Kallis was unbeaten on 159 in the Proteas’ first knock, former Bok loose forward Rob Louw clearly loved the batsman’s association with his own school of Wynberg Boys High.
“Luv it when a sportsman proves people wrong. Well done JK. Showed true Wynberg guts. Give them the middle finger. Gr8test allrounder ever.”
Meanwhile SuperSport commentator and former Proteas batsman HD Ackerman, who emerged as a Western Province youngster of promise around the same time Kallis, did, said: “No question. Kallis is one of the best of all time. #kingkallis.”
And Albie Morkel, the big-hitting all-rounder, was clearly chuffed with himself for suggesting on Tuesday that Kallis would eventually go all the way to a double: “J Kallis 200! Good call Albie!”
