Boucher, Tahir break record

Pretoria - Mark Boucher and Imran Tahir added a record partnership before South Africa were bowled out for 411 on the third day of the first Sunfoil test against Sri Lanka at SuperSport Park in Centurion on Saturday.

Mark Boucher earlier had eased to his half-century as South Africa moved to 398 for nine on the third day of the first Sunfoil test against Sri Lanka at SuperSport Park in Centurion on Saturday.

South Africa hold a commanding lead of more than 200 runs on a pitch which should continue to aid the bowlers today.

Mark Boucher faced the first ball of the day to be bowled by paceman Dilhara Fernando. Boucher reaches his 35th test fifty in style as he clips the first ball of the day to the square leg fence for four. Boucher, who came into the test under pressure to perform, faced 86 balls to reach the milestone.

Boucher ended the over with a superb drive past extra cover for another four.
