Dhaka - Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews won the toss and elected to bat in the second one-day international against Bangladesh in Dhaka on Thursday.
Sri Lanka won the first match by 13 runs on Monday to take the lead in the three-match series.
The tourists brought in spinner Ajantha Mendis in place of the injured Nuwan Kulasekara, while Bangladesh dropped Al-Amin Hossain to play experienced seamer Mashrafe Mortaza.
Sri Lanka won both the preceding Test and Twenty20 series.
