Cape Town - The Proteas' medical team will make a late decision on the availability of Hashim Amla and Ryan McLaren for the fourth ODI against Sri Lanka on Sunday.
Amla continues to make positive progress towards making a full recovery from the left groin injury he sustained on Tuesday.
Proteas team manager, Dr Mohammed Moosajee said: “Hashim is in his fourth day of recovery and is responding positively to the rehab and treatment he has received throughout the week. He had a productive net session and passed a mini fitness test this afternoon. He will undergo a full fitness test on Sunday to determine his availability for the fourth ODI.”
McLaren sustained a mild right hamstring strain during the third ODI on Friday and was only able to complete six overs of his bowling spell.
He will continue to receive extensive treatment and rehab from the Proteas’ physiotherapist, Brandon Jackson, and a late call on his availability for the fourth ODI will be made on Sunday morning.
