Johannesburg - South Africa beat India by 11 runs on the Duckworth-Lewis method in their rain affected international T20 match at the Wanderers on Friday.
India had bludgeoned the South African attack on their way to 71 without loss after 7.5 overs when inclement weather set in.
Earlier, South Africa had made 219 for four in their 20 overs, and it meant India would have required 83 runs without a wicket falling to win the match one ball short of eight overs.
The pick of the South African bowlers was Lonwabo Tsotsobe, who conceded just 15 runs off his three overs.
Jacques Kallis, whose benefit match it was, did not bowl a ball in the South African innings.
Kallis, however, featured prominently with the willow opening the batting for the Proteas with Richard Levi.
The pair put on 22 for the first wicket with Levi dispatching four boundaries before falling to the bowling of Irfan Pathan, caught by Rohit Sharma, to bring Colin Ingram to the crease.
Ingram and Kallis went on to put together a blistering 119-run partnership off 81 balls.
Kallis started cautiously before finding his timing, and in the eighth over smashed a massive six off Yusuf Pathan over long-on.
The pair began matching each other shot for shot, and brought up the 100 in the 12th over.
Kallis was dismissed soon after, caught at deep mid-wicket off the bowling of Ravichandran Ashwin, for 61.
Ingram went on to make 78 before failing to clear the deep mid-wicket boundary with a lofted shot and was caught by Rohit Sharma off Suresh Raina.
The score kept ticking over with contributions from Farhaan Behardien (20), Justin Ontong (22) before Albie Morkel came in for the final three balls of the innings, which he dispatched for consecutive boundaries.
They included two sixes that left the Indians needing 220 for victory.
