SA A win series Down Under

Cape Town - The second unofficial four-day Test between South Africa A and Australia A ended in a draw, rendering the visitors the ultimate series victors in Townsville on Sunday.

Callum Ferguson’s (82) was the only wicket to fall on the day, when he was run out by David Wiese, as a rampant Phillip Hughes smashed an unbeaten 243 runs from 440 deliveries, including 26 fours and a six.

The South African bowlers could not get any joy from the wicket with Simon Harmer and Hardus Viljoen the only two to get wickets, finishing on 1/138 and 1/76 respectively.

The hosts were 454/3 at close of play, leaving the match drawn.
