Cape Town - Proteas batsman Richard Levi has signed a deal deal to play T20 cricket for English county Northamptonshire.
The 25-year-old shot to international stardom when he scored 100 off 45 balls on the way to an unbeaten 117 in a win over New Zealand last year.
He has played 13 Twenty20 internationals, averaging 21.45 with a strike rate of 141, but has struggled for consistency in recent times.
According to the BBC Sport website, Levi will play for Northants in the Friends Life T20 competition this English summer.
"We are delighted to welcome Richard to the County Ground as he will add much needed firepower to the top of our order in this format," said Northants head coach David Ripley.
Levi played for Somerset in last year's T20, scoring 179 runs in seven matches at an average of 25.57, with only one half century, with an average of 25.57 - but at a strike rate of 161.
