Johannesburg - Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Wednesday announced that bizhub Highveld Lions wicketkeeper Thami Tsolekile has been added to the Proteas’ Castle Lager squad for the Test series against England which starts at The Oval, London, on July 19.
“Thami has done very well both the Lions and South Africa A for a couple of seasons, culminating in his South African record eight catches in an innings this past week,” commented CSA selection convener Andrew Hudson.
“With AB de Villiers also able to fill the role of wicketkeeper in the Test series it gives the tour selectors options in this important position.”
Ryan McLaren (side strain) has had to withdraw from the South Africa A team for the triangular limited overs series in Zimbabwe against their host’s A team as well as Sri Lanka A. He will be replaced by Quinton Friend.
