Proteas close in on victory

London - The Proteas have struck after lunch on the final day of the first Test against England at The Oval to close in on victory.

Dale Steyn claimed the wickets of Ian Bell (55) and Stuart Broad (0) to leave the hosts reeling on 210 for eight in their second innings, still 42 behind SA's first innings total of 637 for two declared.

Imran Tahir got the other wicket after lunch when he dismissed Matt Prior for 40.

England made 385 in their first innings.
