SA Invitation XI bat first against Pakistan

Cape Town - Pakistan have begun their tour of South Africa by bowling first against an SA Invitation XI in Benoni on Wednesday.

Pakistan will take on the Proteas in three Test matches, starting on Boxing Day in Centurion, before playing three T20Is and five ODIs against the South Africans. 

Under the leadership of coach Mickey Arthur, Pakistan have shown a resurgence in recent months and will no doubt provide stiff competition for the Proteas. 

The SA Invitation XI, meanwhile, is made of young players on the fringes of franchise cricket. 

The match will end on Friday.
