Cape Town - The Proteas Women's duo of Laura Wolvaardt and Sune Luus will play for the Brisbane Heat in the upcoming Big Bash League.

It will be Wolvaardt's second season with the franchise while Luus will play in the BBL for the first time.

The tournament gets underway on December 1.

"Sune is a very exciting prospect," Heat coach Pete McGiffin was quoted as saying on the Cricket.com.au website.

"She’s a clever bat who surprises with her power and I really like the way she questions the opposition with the ball. She’s got a lot of experience and will complement the playing group we have really nicely."

Both players are currently with the Proteas as they prepare for this year's World Twenty20 in the West Indies.

That tournament will run from November 9-24.
