Cape Town - The Proteas will play in two official warm-up fixtures against Sri Lanka and West Indies ahead of the 2019 Cricket World Cup in England.

All 10 tournament nations will play their two warm-up fixtures held over five days between May 24-28.

As per previous ICC tournaments, warm-up fixtures will be 50-over per side, but will not carry official ODI status, as teams can field all members of their 15-man squad during the match.

ICC men's Cricket World Cup 2019 Managing Director, Steve Elworthy, said: "It is always a huge milestone announcing an exciting warm-up schedule for the Cricket World Cup as it really highlights just how close we are to the action getting underway this summer.

"These games provide another fantastic opportunity for fans to see world-class players at their local venue and allows the tournament to engage local schools and communities with another chance to get involved with the Cricket World Cup."

The Proteas will kick off their 2019 Cricket World Cup campaign against hosts England on May 30.

The 10 teams will play each other in a single-round of matches - as was the case in the 1992 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The top four teams will then progress to the semi-finals.

Lord's will host its fifth World Cup final on July 14.
