Proteas could tour Pakistan in March for 3 T20s

Cape Town - The Proteas could be set for a short tour to Pakistan in March, with three T20 internationals in the pipeline should Cricket South Africa give the go-ahead for the trip.

According to Cricinfo, that decision will depend on a visit to the country by a security team in February to determine whether Pakistan is deemed safe enough to tour.

Following a terrorist attack on the bus carrying the Sri Lankan Test team in 2009, Pakistan were forced to play all of their cricket away from home. Only recently have teams returned to country for international cricket.

The last time the Proteas visited Pakistan was 13 years ago in 2007 and they are due to do so again in early 2021 for two Test matches and three T20 internationals according to the ICC schedule.

With the ICC T20 World Cup set for Australia in October this year, extra T20 internationals will help the Proteas to settle on their best line-up.
