Morris: I'm still available for Proteas

All-rounder Chris Morris says he is still available for the Proteas as plans for this year's T20 World Cup continue.

"There is no reason that I wouldn't want to play for South Africa," Morris told Netwerk24 on Wednesday.

"Hopefully it happens after the IPL this year, but I have never insisted on being selected."

The IPL, where Morris will represent the Royal Challengers Bangalore after bagging a R20 million contract for the 2020 season, will take place from March 29 - May 24.

The Proteas then tour Sri Lanka in June for three ODIs and three T20s.

Morris (32) no longer has a contract with Cricket South Africa or the Titans, but given his experience, big hitting and death bowling ability, he could be an attractive option for the Proteas as they look to win a first ever World Cup.

Morris, who was a part of South Africa's squad at the 50-over 2019 World Cup in England, added that the T20 format would be the likeliest for him to represent his country again.

Since making his international debut in 2012, Morris has played 4 Tests, 42 ODIs and 23 T20s for South Africa.
