It's a hat-trick! Proteas Women's seamer joins elite club

Cape Town - Proteas seamer Masabata Klaas on Thursday became just the 10th women in history to take an ODI hat-trick.

The 28-year-old achieved the feat towards the end of Pakistan's innings in the second ODI between the sides in Potchefstroom.

Klaas finished with figures of 3/27 from her 9 overs as Pakistan were bowled out for just 147

While she was the 10th woman overall to claim a hat-trick in the format, Klaas is just the 2nd South African to do so.

The first was leg-spinner Dane van Niekerk, who took a hat-trick in an ODI during South Africa's tour of the West Indies back in 2013.

The last hat-trick in women's ODI cricket, meanwhile, came from Bangladesh's Rumana Ahmed in 2016.

South Africa lost the first of three ODIs against Pakistan and need to win the 2nd to stay in the three-match series.
