ICC confuses 2 former Proteas in Happy Birthday post

Cape Town - The International Cricket Council (ICC) has wished former South African all-rounder Andrew Hall a Happy Birthday ... or should that be former national bowler Charl Langeveldt?

In a Twitter post to their over 9.3 million followers on Wednesday, cricket's governing body sent its best wishes to Hall, alongside an image of Langeveldt.

So whose birthday is it?

As it turns out, Hall, who played 21 Tests, 88 ODIs and two T20s for the Proteas, did in fact turn 44 on Wednesday.

Nearly an hour later, after numerous comments flagging the error, the ICC removed the post.

For the record, Langeveldt will celebrate his next birthday - his 45th - on December 17.
