Amla wins toss, opts to bowl

Cape Town - Hashim Amla has won the toss and decided that the Proteas will bowl first in overcast conditions on Day 1 of the first Test match at Kingsmead.

The Proteas have decided on a balanced attack, meaning off-spinner Dane Piedt features in the starting lineup.

Kyle Abbot has been selected at the third seamer while Temba Bavuma will bat in the middle-order.

For England, Alex Hales will make his test debut, Chris Woakes plays in place of the injured James Anderson and Steven Finn is recalled thanks to his impressive bowling display against South Africa 'A'.
