Cape Town - When Dale Steyn joined the '400 club' against Bangladesh on Thursday, he became only the 13th player in history and the second South African to do so.
The 'Phalaborwa Express' reached the milestone in 80 Tests - the same number of matches it took New Zealand great Richard Hadlee to get there. Only Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan (72) reached 400 wickets in fewer Tests.
But where Steyn is streaks ahead of his rivals is in the strike rate department.
He reached 400 wickets in 16 634 balls - fewer than anybody else - and his strike rate of 41.6 is also comfortably lower than the others who have passed 400.
Steyn has enjoyed success against all of the Test playing nations, with the statistics showing that he has struggled most against England.
Michael Clarke has felt the wrath of the 'Steyn Remover' more than any other batsman. The Australian captain has been dismissed nine times by Steyn with Pakistan's Mohammad Hafeez falling victim to Steyn on eight occasions.
Steyn's Test performances:
v Zimbabwe - 8 wickets at 10.5
