Smith welcomes baby Biff

Cape Town - Proteas Test skipper Graeme Smith has confirmed that he's become a father to a baby boy.

Smith tweeted on Monday: Myself and @MorganDeane welcomed our boy Carter McMorrin Smith into the world today! 3,2 kg mom and baby doing well.so excited.????

Smith married Irish singer Morgan Deane in August 2011.

Their daughter, Cadence Christine Smith, was born July 25, 2012.

Smith, currently sidelined with an ankle injury, will not form part of the Proteas' ODI and T20 tour to Sri Lanka, starting on July 20.

He is however expected to make his return for the Pakistan series in the UAE in October.
