Rain delays play in Dhaka Test

Dhaka - Heavy rain since early morning has delayed the start of the second day's play in the second and final Test between Bangladesh and South Africa in Dhaka on Friday.

The pitch and a major part of the outfield at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium were covered, but with the weather showing no signs of relenting the teams were asked not to travel to the ground.

Bangladesh, who won the toss and elected to bat, were due to resume at their overnight score of 246-8.

The first Test ended in a draw in Chittagong after rain washed out play on the last two days.
