CSA welcome Audi aboard

Johannesburg - Cricket South Africa (CSA) have welcomed car manufacturer, Audi, into the cricket family on Monday.

Audi have signed an agreement with CSA that will see the brand become the official vehicle partner to CSA and the Proteas.

The announcement, coming just two days before the Proteas kick-off the Test Series against the West Indies, will see Audi gaining branding exposure both in-stadia and on television. Fans at home and at the stadium will get unique insight into player performance via the Audi Performance Tracker, and will be able to keep track of the speed of every ball with the Audi Speedgun.

“We are proud to associate with another world-class brand and it is simply fantastic to end the year by welcoming a brand new partner into our cricket family,” said CSA Chief Executive, Haroon Lorgat.

“There is no doubt that Audi is a global player and a great fit for the Number 1 Test team in the world.

“I have learnt about Audi‘s rare spirit for bravery and pioneering and this is what motivates their engineers, their people and ultimately their customers. These traits make Audi like no other in the world and it is what I believe will make Audi a unique partner for CSA and the Proteas,“ added Lorgat.

“Sporty, sophisticated and progressive – these are the core brand values of Audi, and are most definitely values which identify with the game of Cricket, displaying the synergies of these two brands and our partnership,” said Paul Sansom, head of Audi South Africa.

“Audi South Africa is delighted to be the official vehicle partner of the Proteas and are certain this partnership will allow us to not only expand our business in South Africa, but will also attract new supporters to Cricket as the team prepares for the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2015,” concluded Sansom.

Audi sports sponsorships globally represent the natural strengths of our brand. Audi is involved with sports such as motorsport, golf, football and sailing, all of which require a unique combination of power, performance, innovation, efficiency and passion in order to succeed. Cricket is no different in this regard and the characteristics and values of the Proteas, in particular the characteristics of the ProteaFire campaign, are values which Audi resonates with.

The Proteas are currently ranked the number 1 team on the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Test rankings. 2015 represents a big year for the team as they head to the ICC Cricket World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in February.
