Warriors v Eagles washed out

Port Elizabeth - The Standard Bank Pro20 semi-final between the Warriors and Eagles was washed out in Port Elizabeth on Sunday and will be replayed on Monday night.

The Eagles, having won the first leg of the semi-final by nine wickets in Bloemfontein, would have fancied their chances of winning on Sunday and clinching a place in the final as they restricted the Warriors to 117 for eight.

But before they could really get engaged in their run-chase, the rain arrived to ensure fast bowler CJ de Villiers would be denied the glory of leading the Eagles to victory.

De Villiers produced a top-class spell of 4-14 in his four overs as the Eagles maintained a firm grip on proceedings after winning the toss and sending the Warriors in.

Ashwell Prince lent some respectability to a sick-looking innings with his 40 off 29 balls, but the next highest score was no more than 16 from Robin Peterson.

Just eight balls were possible in the Eagles innings, Boeta Dippenaar scoring two runs, before the rain brought play to an end.

If thats not luck on the warriors side, then i dont know what least they can restart tomorrow and try again.

Yes that is luck, why can the game be replayed, while the Titans lost out and games could not be replayed when it was rained out, for them twice? This makes a mockery of the game.

Absolute nonsense!!!! If it's rained out it should be over and then whoever is ahead should go through, why a replay? Other teams should also have had this opportunity of a replay in case of a rained out match.

Titanic-At least they share 2 points for a wash out during the round-robin stage. Otherwise they'll never finish. I am relieved the Warriors get a second chance and hope they use it

its a semi, titanic and they always have reserve days....even though the titans had two rained out games, they shoulve if they had it in them won their must win games and got through, but they couldnt.. And yes the warriors need some luck, probably the best franchise not to win a trophy yet....and they where unlucky in fwednesdays 1st semi with rain....
