Cape Town - Proteas players have taken to Twitter to send messages of support to Australian batsman Phillip Hughes, who suffered a head injury after being struck by a short delivery in a domestic match.
The South Australian opener, who was wearing a helmet, had scored a composed 63 when he was hit by a ball from Sean Abbott while attempting a pull shot.
The 25-year-old remained in a critical condition in a Sydney hospital after undergoing emergency surgery as the sports world rallied around him.
