Cape Town - Hashim Amla, Vernon Philander and AB de Villiers all achieved career best ratings as the Proteas continued to dominate the recently released ICC Test rankings, following their home Test series whitewash of Pakistan.
Amla retained first place in the latest ICC Test batting rankings, gaining 10 points to reach a total of 903 points, his highest rating to date, while Philander retained second place behind Dale Steyn in the ICC Test bowling rankings, gaining a point to improve his rating to 890 points, a new personal best.
De Villiers, who was named man-of-the-series, gained a massive 28 points to achieve his best career rating of 879 points, gaining one position to share joint third place with Shivnarine Chanderpaul, following his heroics against Pakistan, where he scored two centuries and a fifty in his five innings for a total of 352 runs.
The Proteas still had the most batsmen and bowlers in the top ten of any Test country with three each.
Jacques Kallis dropped one place in the batting rankings to ninth from a position of eighth prior to the final Pakistan Test, whilst bowlers Dale Steyn (1st) and Morne Morkel (9th) retained their places.
