Onions into the Dolphins' mix

Durban - The Dolphins have announced on Thursday the signing of England international cricketer Graham Onions for the 2013/2014 season.

Onions, a right arm fast bowler, currently plays for Durham and England.

"I am absolutely delighted to have signed for the Dolphins and am looking forward to play in South Africa, which is renowned as having one of the strongest domestic setups in the world," said Onions.

"My availability will obviously depend upon England selections, but I hope to be able to contribute to a successful campaign for the Dolphins this year."

Dolphins' coach Lance Klusener said Onions would be a top signing for his side.

"The signing of Graham is a great addition to the Sunfoil Dolphins squad," he said.

"Graham is an ultimate professional that will bring quality and experience."

Jesse Chellan, CEO of the Dolphins, said the player would be available for all three formats for the team.

"He is contracted for the full season and will play in all three competitions [pending non-selection for England]," said Chellan.

"He will add experience and know-how in leading the Dolphins' attack."
