Cape Town - Some outstanding batting from
the Dolphins yielded no return on Friday as their One-Day Cup clash with the Warriors was rained out at Kingsmead.
Half-centuries from Vaughn van
Jaarsveld and Morne van Wyk, and an exciting 47 from Khaya Zondo, had put the
Dolphins in a strong position, only for the weather to make no further play
Van Jaarsveld (85) and van Wyk
(92) put on 139 for the first wicket in a partnership that was interrupted by
rain, with the game shortened to 40 overs per side.
After the delay, the Dolphins
reached 236/3 in the 37th over, with Zondo unbeaten on 49 from just 29
deliveries, when the rain returned and set in for the evening.
