Cape Town - Some outstanding batting from the Dolphins yielded no return on Friday as their One-Day Cup clash with the Warriors was rained out at Kingsmead.
Half-centuries from Vaughn van Jaarsveld and Morne van Wyk, and an exciting 47 from Khaya Zondo, had put the Dolphins in a strong position, only for the weather to make no further play possible.
Van Jaarsveld (85) and van Wyk (92) put on 139 for the first wicket in a partnership that was interrupted by rain, with the game shortened to 40 overs per side.
After the delay, the Dolphins reached 236/3 in the 37th over, with Zondo unbeaten on 49 from just 29 deliveries, when the rain returned and set in for the evening.
With both sides taking two points from the fixture, the Dolphins opened up a five-point gap over the Titans at the top of the table, although they have played two games more than the second-placed side.
The Warriors remain second from bottom.
