Cape Town - The Nelson Mandela Bay Giants cruised past the Durban Heat in their Mzansi Super League encounter in Port Elizabeth on Friday night.
Set a meagre 128 for victory, the hosts cruised to a nine-wicket victory with 15 balls to spare.
Giants captain Jon-Jon Smuts top-scored with an unbeaten 62 off 52 balls, while fellow opener Marco Marais made 42 off 38 balls.
Englishman Ben Duckett made a quickfire 21 not out off 16 balls to see the Giants home.
Earlier, the Heat were restricted to 127 for six off their allotted 20 overs.
Albie Morkel was the Heat's best batsman with 28 off 21 balls before retiring hurt after being struck on the arm.
Junior Dala (two for 16) and Chris Morris (two for 29) were standouts with the ball for the Giants.
The Giants are next in action against the Tshwane Spartans in Centurion on Sunday (November 25), while the Heat tackle the Paarl Rocks in Durban on Wednesday (November 28).
