Lillee to help Oz quicks

Sydney - Dennis Lillee has been drafted in to provide guidance and coaching advice to the national side ahead of their tour to India in February, Cricket Australia said on Thursday.

The fast bowling great will also act as a mentor to the country's up-and-coming quicks, but will not travel extensively abroad with the team.

"He will work closely with full-time bowling coach Ali de Winter as Australia prepare to tackle India in a Test series next month and then the highly-anticipated Ashes series starting in July," Cricket Australia said.

Lillee, 63, is regarded as one cricket's greatest fast bowlers, claiming a then-record 355 Test wickets in 70 Tests for Australia.

Australia's squad announced on Thursday for their four-Test tour of India in February-March:

Michael Clarke (captain), Ed Cowan, David Warner, Phil Hughes, Shane Watson, Matthew Wade, Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Johnson, Peter Siddle, Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Moises Henriques, James Pattinson, Xavier Doherty, Jackson Bird, Usman Khawaja, Steve Smith
