Johannesburg - Zaheer Khan brought up his 300th Test wicket for India with his fifth wicket of the first Test against South Africa at the Wanderers on Sunday.
Khan bagged four wickets in the first innings, and his first scalp in the second took him to the milestone when he dismissed Jacques Kallis lbw for 34 in the 61st over of South Africa's second-innings run chase.
It was a lucky wicket though, as replays showed Kallis clearly got an inside edge onto his pads.
The 35-year-old left arm seamer was recalled for the South African tour after being left out of India's Test side for more than a year.
Khan made his debut against Bangladesh in November 2000 and is playing in his 89th Test. His best bowling figures were 7/87 against Bangladesh in Dhaka in January 2010, where he finished the match with 10/149.
South Africa, chasing 458 to win, were 236/4 at lunch on the final day.
