Johannesburg - The Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered their first defeat on home soil this season as a Suresh Raina-inspired Chennai Super Kings trounced them by 77 runs in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
According to the supersport.com website, the Super Kings, bouncing back from a loss over the weekend, ensured that they are within reach of a playoff place and the fortress Hyderabad was dismantled with the hosts falling flat on their faces in an attempt to chase 224.
Raina hit an unbeaten 99 off 52 balls while David Hussey became the highest run-scorer in this season’s IPL with 67 off 42 helped the Chennai Super Kings post the highest total for any team at playing at the Hyderabad ground this season.

The Sunrisers had won the toss and elected to bowl first, but their bowlers looked completely out of their depth as the Super Kings batsmen took the hosts to task.
