Cape Town - New Zealand women redressed their shock exit from the 2014 ICC Women’s World T20 at the hands of the Proteas by beating them by a comprehensive seven wickets to secure their place in the 2016 semi-final at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Saturday.

Another batting collapse was the major cause of South Africa’s woes, orchestrated by Sophie Devine (3/16) and Leigh Kasperek (3/19) who took six wickets between them to see the Proteas bundled out for just 99 with three balls remaining of the innings.

Erin Bermingham also made a good contribution of 2/14 to keep the pressure up.

Marizanne Kapp was the highest run scorer with 22 from 24 balls, with the next highest runs come Dané van Niekerk with just 18.

It took 14.3 overs for the White Ferns to reach their target.

Suzie Bates and Rachel Priest (28) set a solid foundation for the chase with a 57-run opening stand, broken by Masabata Klaas in the ninth over when she dismissed the former for 29.

Two more wickets fell in quick succession after that.

Priest and Sara McGlashen were both trapped lbw by van Niekerk and Kapp respectively in the 11th and 12th overs.
