Mumbai - Batsman Lendl Simmons has replaced injured Andre Fletcher in the West Indies squad for the World Twenty20.
The ICC's technical committee approved the replacement on Tuesday after Fletcher pulled a right hamstring during West Indies' six-run defeat against Afghanistan on Sunday and was ruled out of the tournament.
The 31-year-old Simmons was part of the West Indies squad which won the World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka in 2012.
He has played 34 T20Is, scoring 761 runs at a strike rate of 114, but has been out of the West Indies T20 squad since 2015.
West Indies will take on host India in the second semi-final at Mumbai on Thursday.
