Cape Town - Former Western Province Cricket Association president Clem Druker passed away on Sunday after a long illness.
Druker was also the legal representative of former South African skipper Hansie Cronje during his match fixing trial in 2000.
Druker was hailed as an exceptional man on social networking site, Twitter, with well-known personalities in the cricket fraternity expressing their condolences.
"Clem Druker former President WPCA passed away yesterday...a truly remarkable person R.I.P. my good friend," tweeted SuperSport commentator Jeremy Fredericks.
"Former WPCA President Clem Druker passed away yesterday, remarkable person - RIP," said former Proteas fast bowler Meyrick Pringle.
Druker, who served as WP president in the 1990s, was made an honorary life member by the union in 2000.
Druker matriculated from SACS in 1952 after which he attended UCT, graduating in 1956.
He is survived by his wife June, children Jeremy, Evan and Belinda, sons-in-law Gavin and Tim and grandchildren Adam and Amy.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday at Temple Israel in Wynberg at 11:00 and prayers later the same day at 18:00 as well as Sunday, June 23 at 18:00 at 8 Highwaick Drive in Kenilworth.
