Cape Town - Cricket lovers will have the chance next week to win Herschelle Gibbs' valuable 438-match man of the match trophy.
The former Proteas star said yesterday on Twitter that he would give the prize to one of his followers on the social networking website.
He won the trophy for his man of the match performance in the famous One-Day International between the Proteas and Australia.
Gibbs (36) had already given away some of his commemorative valuables yesterday -- the shirt and cap that he wore in his last One-Day International already has a new owner.
Gibbs played 90 Test matches and 248 One-Day Internationals for South Africa, but his performance in the Proteas' famous victory over Australia at the Wanderers in 2006 is the one for which he will be most remembered.
Gibbs' 175 runs in that match set the home team up to achieve 438/9, thus winning both the match and the series against the Aussies.
When asked about why he is giving away all these possessions, Gibbs tweeted: "The only 'trophy' that I wanted to win was a Cricket World Cup.
"Now that I know that will never happen, I don't mind to give the rest away."
