Cape Town - Herschelle Gibbs has quickly quashed any hopes that a Western Cape father had about his son's cricketing feat.
The Cape Times reported that Luan Grundlingh's father is in the process of finding out if his son's feat is a record of any sort after the 13-year-old Paarl Gimnasium schoolboy scored 202 off 103 balls for the Northern Bears club in Durbanville against their Pinelands opponents.
However, former Proteas batsmen Herschelle Gibbs quickly ruled out the possibility of Luan making history after commenting on the story on Twitter.
Gibbs tweeted that it was a great effort but it reminded him of the time when he scored 200 as a 12-year-old.

Furthermore, South Africa's women's cricket captain Mignon du Preez, of Pretoria, hit an unbeaten 258 in a provincial under-13 match between Gauteng and Gauteng North in Johannesburg in November 2002.
