Canberra - Australia paceman James Faulkner has been fined 10 percent of his match fee for shouting abuse toward Chris Gayle after dismissing the West Indies batsman during a one-day international on Wednesday.
Faulkner accepted a charge of "using language or a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting during an international match" after bowling Gayle in the 38th over of Australia's 39-run win in Canberra.
"There is no place for this type of behavior anywhere near the game ... in this particular incident, James crossed the line," match referee Ranjan Madugalle said.
Faulkner finished the match with figures of 4 for 48. Australia's victory put the team 3-0 ahead in the five-match series.
