Johannesburg - Proteas cricketer JP Duminy has been elected president of the SA Cricketers' Association (SACA), the association said on Wednesday.
The president and members of the players' executive committee were voted in by South Africa's professional cricketers, comprising the men's and women's senior national teams, the six franchise teams and the 13 semi-professional provincial teams.
The other three players elected onto the executive committee were Farhaan Behardien (Proteas and Titans), Omphile Ramela (Cape Cobras) and Stephen Cook (Highveld Lions).
"I'm honoured that my fellow professional cricketers have shown their confidence in me," Duminy said in a statement.
"Our players' association, SACA, plays an important role in South African cricket and I am glad to be asked by the players to be part of its leadership."
