Cape Town - International cricketing sensation JP Duminy has been selected as the first ever Ambassador for the Children's Hospital Trust, the Fundraising Arm of the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital in Cape Town.

The Hospital is the only stand alone, specialist hospital in southern Africa dedicated entirely to children.

The launch of a formal Trust Ambassadors' programme provides the perfect opportunity for well-known and respected individuals to give back to their community in a meaningful way.

Trust Ambassadors are not remunerated and choose to give of their time to make a difference in the lives of children and contribute to the future of the country.

While Duminy continues to excel on the cricket pitch he will now extend his responsibilities to helping sick children who are treated at the Hospital each year.

As a Trust Ambassador Duminy will act as a public representative for the Children's Hospital Trust by attending high profile fundraising events and spending quality time with the Hospital's brave little patients.

You really are a well grounded youn man JP. Stay as sweet & innocent. God Bless you JP

Wish that our other high profile cricketers would do the same. Instead of having a publicist who try to make as much money for the sportsman, why not do something that would benefit the country and not be worried about charging an appearance fee or hourly rates. Well done JP, you are a true South African Hero.

What a great fella this guy is. I think the Proteas team as a whole have a great bunch of nice guys.

I think that MOST of our cricketers do their bit for all kinds of charity. Just 2 example: The proteas have been linked to the "reach for a dream foundation" for a while now and Jacques kallis together with Lucas Radebe recently became brand ambassadors for Hospice....we have a bunch of great guys...
