Cape Town - Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc admitted that he does not mind being hit for a few runs because he is included in the team to take wickets, not worry about the run rate.
Starc currently tops the bowling charts at the Cricket World Cup in England. He's taken 13 wickets in 46 overs bowled and conceded 249 runs.
The runs per over of 5.4 is a little on the high side but nothing to be overly concerned about. The average of 19.15, on the other hand, is absolutely phenomenal.
"I think what I have added is having the option to assume various roles. We have spoken about that, different conditions or different teams where I may very well attempt and return and take wickets," he said.
"I may go for more runs yet I am there to attempt and get a breakthrough and have short, sharp spells. That is most likely something that has remained consistent all through my one-day cricket.
"In case I'm fit, I'd like to play every match. At last it's not up to me, however it's a World Cup. I think you must play your best XI, contingent upon conditions and the group we play. Yet, I unquestionably won't set up my hand to rest."
Starc is clearly a fan of playing on the big stage. He was also named player of the tournament at the last edition of the Cricket World Cup.
