Cape Town - The Cricket World Cup warm-up match between the Proteas and the West Indies in Bristol was abandoned on Sunday due to persistent rain.

After they were asked to bat by the West Indies, the Proteas were 95/0 after 12.4 over when play was finally called off by the umpires after the players were forced to leave the field on three occasions.

Reduced to a 31 over affair, Hashim Amla (51*) and Quinton de Kock (37*) were in fine form and flayed the West Indies attack to all parts of the ground.

Amla's half-century was the second in as many matches.

The other match on Sunday, between Bangladesh and Pakistan was also abandoned due to rain with a bowl being bowled.

Scores:

South Africa 95/0 after 12.4 overs

Hashim Amala 51 not out

Quinton de Kock 37 not out
