Rassie, what's your best country to tour and why?

I haven't toured many, but I spent some time in Ireland and the Netherlands. I really enjoyed my time with the Irish, it was really beautiful and the people were very hospitable.

Who has inspired you the most in life?

I take inspiration from various sources. Nelson Mandela is one, I've read a few books on him and his life. There are also some ex-cricketers that really inspired me, guys like Graeme Smith and Jacques Kallis.

If you weren't playing cricket, what career path would you have taken?

Probably something to do with nature or animals. When I was young I wanted to study veterinary science, so maybe something along those lines... a game ranger possibly.

How do you relax when you're not playing cricket?

Time outdoors, in the bush with my wife and friends, maybe a braai. I don't do it enough, but it's how I like to relax. My hobby is birding, so that's what I like doing when I get out.

Scariest bowler you've face and why?

Earlier in my career we played Champions League cricket in India and I faced up to Mitchell Johnson playing for Mumbai Indians on a fast wicket, which was scary.
