Proteas skipper Faf du Plessis and several of the team were dressed in their green and gold blazers as they walked through the arrivals gate.

The Proteas were eliminated from the Cricket World Cup after winning only three of their nine matches in England and Wales.

South Africa, however, finished off on a high by defeating Sri Lanka (by 9 wickets) and Australia (by 10 runs) in their final group matches.
